Nick Diaz Says Carlos Condit More Dangerous Than GSP (Video)

February 2, 2012
Comments off captured Nick Diaz at the UFC 143 Pre-Fight Press Conference at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas as he talked about his upcoming fight against Carlos Condit.

“You’re more in danger of losing a decision to St-Pierre; you’re more in danger of losing your teeth to Condit,” said Diaz.

Check out what else Diaz had to say…

I think nick is being honest about his assessment of condit being more dangerous than Gsp. I think he might have figured that our after watching tape of Carlos.
I only say that because he seemed confused when Gsp said the same thing about condit being a tougher matchup than nick.

It’s a weird dynamic. I think condit has the better chance of beating Gsp, but if I think nick is probably the favorite in this fight. I can imagine this fight being somewhat similar to the Diaz vs. penn fight. I don’t think condit will gas nearly as quick, but I don’t think condit will own nick in first part of the fight like bj did. I agree it could be a strong fight.

I agree with you. I think Condit has the ability to knock out diaz and gsp. Im a fan of all 3 of them, but I like Nick the most, mostly because he has an entertaining style and the dude is one fascinating cat lol

“Yeah, that’s the plan” – after being asked if he & Nate are trying to be champs at the same time.

One thing about Condit is 26 out of his 27 wins have been by submission or KO, that’s impressive. It’s difficult for me to pick a favorite in this fight.

  • u can never count out condit he has a lot of talent and not many holes. its gonna be a great fight

This is a very good matchup that could go either way. I personally think Diaz will wear him down by pushing the pace and having a better cardio. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion however all these postings of Condit knocking out GSP and being a tougher matchup are a little exaggerated. If we look at his fights since joining the UFC we will notice that he was 7 seconds away from losing to Rory Macdonald and extremely lucky to get split decisions against Ellenberger and Kampman. I strongly doubt that he would have what it take to beat GSP who is a superior athelete.

I agree with what you wrote. It very well could go down that way.
Just to be understood. I wouldn’t actually pick for condit to finish either Diaz or Gsp. I’ve only been meaning that I think condit is more likely to finish than the other purposed matchups.

This fight is simply Nate vs. Cerrone on steroids. Condit fights just like Cerrone, but better, and Nick is a step above Nate. Condit’s muay thai & knees will be difficult to impose, if Nick controls the ring, pushes the pace, and constantly moves forward. Tough to get those knees off if you are against the fence, or backing up.
Condit wins the first round, and knocks Diaz down with a punch at least once. Diaz picks Condit apart the next three rounds, before finishing him in the 4th. Fight of the Night, possibly Fight of the Year! Refs don’t eff this one up, let them fight!
