Nick Diaz may still be awaiting to find out his fate in MMA from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, but that doesn’t mean the Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu student can’t stay busy in other areas.
Diaz will go back to his roots coming up on Saturday, May 12 as he meets multi-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion Braulio Estima in a grappling super fight.
The bout will take place at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center, in Long Beach, Calif.
Diaz’s background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is well known, earning his black belt under Cesar Gracie and working alongside several other top grapplers in his camp including former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields.
Facing Gracie in May will be multi-time grappling champion Braulio Estima.
Estima faces Diaz with an ultra impressive grappling record to his name. A 3x World Jiu-Jitsu champion, Pan American champion, and multi-time medal winner at the Abu Dhabi grappling competition, Estima is seen as one of the best jiu-jitsu practitioners in the world.
Estima faces Diaz in a grappling super fight as the featured event for the weekend’s expo, which will also showcase several other top named teachers and instructors as they conduct seminars and other programs.
Headed up by legendary coach and fighter Renzo Grace, the expo will also feature appearances by Andre Galvao, Robert Drysdale, Rodrigo Comprido, Roger Gracie and many others.
