Following an injury that forced Roger Gracie off the July 30 Strikeforce card, his bout with Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal has been rebooked for Sept. 10.
Sources close to the match-up confirmed to MMAWeekly.com and that new bout agreements have been issued for the fight.
Gracie and Lawal were scheduled to meet on the Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson fight card on July 30 in Chicago, but the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt suffered a foot injury that forced him out of the fight.
Just days later, MMAWeekly.com reported that Lawal would also drop off the card and wait to fight on a different show. Now the fight has been rescheduled, Gracie and Lawal will do battle in September instead.
The fight between Lawal and Gracie will be part of an event that features a headline bout between Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Luke Rockhold. The card will also feature the debut of former Sengoku fighter Maximo Blanco, who faces former Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson.
