MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings
The latest MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings were released on Friday, January 4. This system ranks the top ten MMA fighters from all across the world in each of the six largest weight classes, as voted on by MMAWeekly.

We take into consideration a fighter’s performance in addition to his win-loss record, head-to-head and common opponents, difficulty of opponents, and numerous other factors in what is the most comprehensive rankings system in the sport.

As always, fighters who are currently serving drug-related suspensions are not eligible for top ten consideration until they have fought one time after the completion of their suspension.

Fighters must also have competed within the past 12 months in order to be eligible for top ten consideration. It has now been 12 months since Josh Barnett or Mark Hunt have competed in MMA, so both are currently ineligible for top ten consideration. Each will become eligible for consideration once they fight again.

With Hayato Sakurai’s recent fight taking place in the welterweight division instead of the lightweight division, he is now eligible for consideration in the welterweight division instead of the lightweight division.

Here are the current MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings, which are up-to-date as of January 4.
