The updated MMAWeekly.com World MMA Rankings were released on Thursday, Dec. 22. This system ranks the Top 10 MMA fightersfrom across the world in each of the seven most widely accepted men’s weight classes and the Top 10 pound-for-pound women fighters.

Taken into consideration are a fighter’s performance in addition to win-loss record, head-to-head and common opponents, difficulty of opponents, and numerous other factors in what is the most comprehensive rankings system in the sport.

Fighters who are currently serving drug-related suspensions are not eligible for Top 10 consideration until they have fought one time after the completion of their suspension.

Fighters must also have competed within the past 12 months in order to be eligible for Top 10 consideration unless they have a bout scheduled within a reasonable time frame.

Strikeforce needs to sign Tara LaRosa ASAP!

    That’s a bad girl!

They should also re-sign Marloes Coenen. She was good for the women’s divisions..

cyborg is so over rated, she is equivalent to tim sylvia when he was the ufc champion with no one to fight in a weak heavyweight division at the time. Could you imagine if all of a sudden in the next 3 years five good women fighters emerged it would only be a matter of time before she would be disposed like tim sylvia. I think they were meant for each other

      LOL

“Could you imagine if all of a sudden in the next 3 years five good women fighters emerged it would only be a matter of time before she would be disposed like tim sylvia”

Cool! Sounds awesome when you really think about it. Let’s hope the future can produce some badass female fighters to challenge Cyborg. How is that seen as a negative? :)

How is king Mo possibly ranked in the top ten? I would put Forrest, lil nog, and possibly even Bader ( even though he didnt show up against Tito ) before thinking bout Mo

  • Atis Tech

    Shogun formerly ranked # 2
    Henderson beats Shogun
    Rashad beats Tito (not ranked)
Rashad now ranked #2 and Hendo #3
    Someone explain please???

before the henderson fight rashad and shogun have been in parity, meaning depending on who’s rankings you’re looking at you’re gonna see rashad and shogun at either 2 or 3, however shoguns loss to henderson was advantageous for rashad
