MMA Life: Duane “Bang” Ludwig’s Comeback Leading To UFC 122

Posted on by Ken Pishna

Duane “Bang” Ludwig suffered a severe leg injury in his March 21, 2010, UFC fight against Derrin Elkins, a spiral fracture and other broken bones in his lower leg. He underwent surgery, having three screws inserted in his ankle.

Over his eight-month recovery, he allowed MMAWeekly.com to follow his progress, including a close-up look at the removal of one of the screws (two of them are still inside his leg), leading up to Saturday’s fight against Nick Osipczak at UFC 122.

Duane “Bang” Ludwig definitely lives the MMA Life…

Good to see him back. I remember watching him tear up KOTC with his kicks. I’ll always root for him, but I really hope to see him get back to his winning ways.

He looked very good when I saw him in training. Sprawling out well, rolling jits well, striking is always strong and didn’t seem hesitant because of the leg or anything.
