The International Fight League and Fox Sports Net announced their continued relationship and 10 new hours of broadcasting time for the IFL’s World Team Championship series this fall. Included in the coverage is a 2-hour special IFL edition of FSN’s Best Damn Sports Show Period (BDSSP).

Although the entire content of the BDSSP special has yet to be determined, a major feature of the broadcast will be the airing of the Pat Miletich vs. Renzo Gracie Superfight from the IFL’s September 23rd show in Moline, Illinois. The BDSSP episode will be broadcast on FSN at 8:00 pm on October 2nd.

FSN will continue to air the IFL in a series of one-hour episodes along the same lines as their current coverage. Content of the episodes will cover the IFL events from September 9th, September 23rd, and November 4th. The 10 hours of broadcasting will culminate in a 2-hour special on December 31st featuring the IFL World Team Championship finals. The date and location of the event to be featured on New Year’s Eve has yet to be determined.

The continued coverage of the IFL seemed to be a no-brainer for FSN. According to an IFL press release FSN Vice President of Programming, Michael Feller, said, “The audience numbers that the IFL was able to generate in the spring were extremely impressive, and reflect the amazing growth not just of interest in MMA, but in the IFL as a television property. This additional 10 hours for the fall is a reflection of our belief in the product in a time slot which will be very effective for our business partners, our audience and the sport.”

The IFL shows will continue to be produced and directed by Emmy award-winning producer Peter Lasser.
