Jonathan Goulet’s manager, Ken Pavia, on Tuesday night confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that his client would fight Mike Swick at The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale on Dec. 13.
It seems the fight is all but set in stone as Mike Swick also confirmed a verbal agreement for the fight.
“It looks like I am fighting Jonathan Goulet on the TUF finale on Spike TV. It is not signed yet, however. I was asked if I would fight him and I agreed, and as far as I know he agreed as well,” relayed Swick. “As soon as I get a contract, I will sign it.”
The American Kickboxing Fighter had surgery in July to clean up a bothersome elbow. He’s ready to go and even made a quick turnaround from his recent wedding in Lake Tahoe so that he could get right back into training and prepare for the December showdown with Goulet.
“We are waiting to take our honeymoon until after the December fight so I can focus on training,” he said.
Swick also indicated that the surgery has his arm feeling better than it has in some time. “My arm feels great and I have no restrictions. It is good to finally be able to start back strength training with it. It has been an issue for so long and its great to have it back.
“If the fight works out in December, the UFC fans will see me be able to do what I have wanted to do for a
while now and that’s let my hands go. I predict a very violent and exciting fight.”
One of the more active fighters on the Internet, in leading up to the fight with Goulet, Swick has planned to
leverage YouTube to give fans a deeper look at Mike Swick. “We just started up an official YouTube page where I plan to share my video blogs, behind the scenes footage from fights, training clips, routines and techniques, as well as my travels with friends.”
