New Jersey native Mike Massenzio will step in on short notice to replace Igor Pokrajac at UFC 131 and will face Krzysztof Soszynski in Vancouver.
One man’s misfortune is another man’s opportunity.
New Jersey native Mike Massenzio will get a second life in the UFC and will face Krzysztof Soszynski at UFC 131 in Vancouver. The UFC confirmed the switch late Monday night.
Massenzio (12-4) returns to the UFC after being released from the promotion in 2010. Normally a 185-pound fighter, Massenzio will take a trip up to the light heavyweight division to face Soszynski in the undercard of UFC 131 in Vancouver.
During his previous stint with the promotion, Massenzio went 1-2, with all of his fights taking place at middleweight. He is managed by Mike Constantino of MVC Sports management, who also manages Massenzio’s teammates Jim and Dan Miller.
After leaving the UFC, Massenzio picked up a win over Nate Kittredge by TKO in late April.
