After having defeated James Irvin about eight months ago, Mike Kyle seemingly dropped off the face of the earth. During that time, he made the move to join Team Cro Cop and now, has finally made his simultaneous debuts for his new fight team and for the Pancrase organization.

Kyle’s first fight for Pancrase was now tomato can, either. He stepped into the ring with longtime veteran Tsuyoshi Kosaka, the Super Heavyweight King of Pancrase. The fight went to a decision, but apparently didn’t quite go the distance as the fight was stopped in the third round due to an accidental injury to Kosaka’s eye. After going to the scorecards, the bout was ruled in Kyle’s favor.

In the main event, Light Heavyweight King of Pancrase, Yuki Kondo also won a unanimous decision over Hiromitsu Kanehara. This was Kondo’s return to victory after dropping his last two fights to Dan Henderson and Igor Vovchanchyn. Kanehara continued on a six fight losing streak that includes losses to Kondo, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Alistair Overeem, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, and Wanderlei Silva.

Number one welterweight contender Satoru Kitaoka was also successful submitting rising talent Carlos Condit in the first round.
