One of the top prospects in the bantamweight division will make his UFC debut this October when Mike Easton takes on Jeff Hougland at UFC on Versus 6 in Washington D.C.
UFC officials announced the new bout on Tuesday.
Hailing from the D.C. area, Mike Easton made his name fighting in the local UWC promotion, picking up several wins there over the last few years including victories over Greg Jackson student John Dodson and former WEC champion Chase Beebe.
Easton has also become one of UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz’s main training partners for his last fight fights, and now he gets his own chance at Octagon glory.
Facing Easton in his debut will be Jeff Hougland making his second appearance in the UFC.
Hougland got his first fight in the UFC in July where he stepped in on short notice and defeated Donny Walker by unanimous decision.
He’ll try to duplicate that success in his 2nd fight as well when he faces Easton in October.
