A middleweight matchup between Melvin Manhoef and former Bellator middleweight champ Alexander Shlemenko will headline a Bellator card that will take place Feb. 13 in Fresno, Calif.

The card, labeled as “Bellator: Manhoef vs. Shlemenko,” will take place at the city’s Save Mart Center. Bellator President Scott Coker made the announcement on Inside MMA on Friday night.

“You take Melvin Manhoef and Alexander Shlemenko, two fighters with a combined 56 knockout victories between them, and put them in a cage, and you know exactly what you’re going to get,” Coker said. “These two fighters have both been known to stand in the pocket and trade bombs. This will be an absolute firefight, and we’ve got a number of other great fights planned for the card that we’ll be announcing very soon.”

Both Manhoef and Shlemenko will come into the fight off disappointments in their last contests. Manhoef suffered a knockout loss to Joe Schilling, while Shlemenko is on a two-fight skid and recently lost his middleweight belt to Brandon Halsey.

More fights for the upcoming card are expected to be announced soon by the promotion.
