Melvin Guillard was hoping for a rematch with Joe Lauzon, but instead he will face a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt at UFC 148.

Guillard will face Team Black House fighter Fabricio ‘Morango’ Camoes on the July 7 card in Las Vegas.

Sources close to the fight confirmed the bout to MMAWeekly.com on Thursday. The UFC’s Brasil Twitter account also confirmed the fight via Portal do Vale Tudo.

Some fighters will say every fight is a must win in the UFC, but for Melvin Guillard he wants to avoid three losses in a row at all costs.

Guillard lost back-to-back fights to Joe Lauzon and Jim Miller, but now with his full training camp being locked down at the Blackzilian team in Florida, the former Ultimate Fighter veteran looks to get in the win column this time as he heads to UFC 148.

Taking on Guillard at UFC 148 will be Brazilian Fabricio Camoes, who looks to earn his fourth victory in a row when he fights in July.

Camoes left the UFC after a loss to Kurt Pellegrino in 2010, but fired back with two straight wins including a victory over former Ultimate Fighter winner Efrain Escudero.

The two wins prompted his return to the UFC where he took out Jorge Gurgel student Tommy Hayden at UFC on FX 1 and now he’ll try to keep the momentum going when he takes on Guillard in July.

What will Gillard’s next excuse be for losing?

I don’t so much like his public persona, but the man does bring it every time, win or lose. I feel Guillard has peaked though and is in a holding pattern skill wise. He has had a $hit ton of fights and will be a good gate keeper for the weight class as his fights are fun to watch still and usually competitive.
