On the heels of WEC 29, World Extreme Cagefighting has announced several bouts for their next event, which takes place on September 5th at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

In the main event, WEC Lightweight Champion “Razor” Rob McCullough will make his first title defense against number one contender Rich Crunkilton. This bout was originally scheduled to take place at WEC 27 back in May, but both fighters eventually succumbed to injury and were pulled form the event.

McCullough became the champion at WEC 25, defeating Kit Cope with strikes. Crunkilton also last saw action at WEC 25, submitting Mike Joy with an anaconda choke.

In the co-main event, WEC Bantamweight Champion Chase Beebe defends his title for the first time against former King of the Cage Flyweight Champion Manny Tapia.

Beebe became the WEC Bantamweight Champion at WEC 26, winning a decision over then champion Eddie Wineland. Tapia made a successful WEC debut at WEC 27, destroying Brandon Foxworth with strikes.

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver will make his WEC debut, as he takes on WEC veteran Cub Swanson in a featherweight bout.

Pulver comes off a submission loss to rival BJ Penn at The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale. Swanson comes off an exciting decision victory over Micah Miller at WEC 28.

Pulver returns to the featherweight division after going 2-4 in the last three years as a lightweight.

WEC 30 is scheduled to air on Versus on September 5, starting at 6PM PST/9EST.
