He may have stumbled in his last fight in the UFC, but Vladimir Matyushenko will still continue his path up the light heavyweight ladder in the Octagon as the native Russian has signed a new 4-fight deal with the promotion.
The announcement was made by Matyushenko’s management group, Alchemist Management, on Monday.
Since returning to the UFC after his previous employers at Affliction closed up shop, Matyushenko has gone 2-1 with his lone loss coming in his last fight at the hands of light heavyweight phenom Jon Jones.
Training out of California, Matyushenko has put together a top team for his fight camps, and will look to get back on the winning track later this year when he returns to the UFC.
The new 4-fight deal will begin with Matyushenko’s next trip to the Octagon.
