Now that the UFC has officially announced the upcoming card set for Abu Dhabi, more fights are being added everyday and the latest is a lightweight showdown between HIT Squad fighter, Matt Veach and British product, Paul Kelly, who will meet in a 155lb contest on the undercard.
The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com on Thursday by sources close to the fight.
Matt Veach (11-1) has looked ultra impressive in his two fights so far in the UFC. After defeated Matt Grice in his debut fight, Veach stepped in on short notice to face current top lightweight contender, Frankie Edgar, in December 2009.
Despite losing the fight to Edgar, it was Veach who impressed so many with his solid striking and power that kept the New Jersey native off balance for much of the fight.
Returning to action for the first time since November, Paul Kelly (9-2) will look to recover from a devastating knockout loss at the hands of Dennis Siver in his last bout.
The Wolfslair fighter is currently 2-1 since dropping to the lightweight division and hopes to bounce back in April following the loss to Siver.
UFC 114 will take place in Abu Dhabi and will be headed up by two title fights including Anderson Silva against Vitor Belfort in a middleweight championship bout, while B.J. Penn puts his lightweight title on the line against Frankie Edgar.
