Last month MMAWeekly.com reported that there could be a fight between Matt Lindland and Anderson Silva. MMAWeekly’s Lee Whitehead breaks the story that Matt Lindland has indeed signed to face Anderson Silva at the Cage Rage 16 Critical Condition card.

Gesias Cavalcanti vs Vitor “Shaolin” Ribero

Matt Lindland vs Anderson Silva

Whitehead of MMAWeekly.com also reports there may also be a possibility of Vitor Belfort returning for a re-scheduled crack at the Cage Rage Light Heavyweight belt, however the hot rumor is that he will move back into the PRIDE ranks having vindicated himself of his recent losses with a devastating 2nd round KO over Anthony Rea in December 2005. It is thought that he will be working the Pride 31 event against an unknown opponent.

Finally, opponent negotiations are in the works for July and the proposed Tank Abbot match. This will be Tank’s first match in the UK and will likely be against chiseled Heavyweight Amokraine Sabat. Tank will be in attendance at the Cage Rage 15 event this weekend, more details to follow post-event.
