Matt “The Law” Lindland is one of the top ranked 185-pound fighters in the world, but on July 22nd he will be fighting for just the second time as a light heavyweight when he faces Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at the World Fighting Alliance’s “King of the Streets” event.
Lindland spoke with MMAWeekly about moving up in weight class, his preparation for the fight, and his game plan for Saturday night’s showdown with “Rampage.”
Lindland told MMAWeekly that he is feeling “unbelievably well.” He added, “I’m well prepared, feeling as good as I’ve felt for any of my fights.”
This will be Matt’s second fight at 205 pounds. In his first fight in this weight class, he defeated Mike Van Arsdale in April of this year. When asked if he will continue to fight as a light heavyweight, Lindland answered, “I don’t have any plans to stay at any particular weight. I think I could fight just about any place but 155.”
When asked for his thoughts on the fight when Jackson, Lindland said, “My thoughts are to hit him a lot more times than he hits me.”
