Mark-Hunt-Roy-Nelson-UFCA heavyweight fight between Mark Hunt and Roy Nelson will headline the UFC’s return to Japan on Sept. 21, officials announced on Friday.

The card, dubbed UFC Fight Night Tokyo, will take place at the Saitama Super Arena and stream on UFC Fight Pass, officials wrote in a statement.

Hunt (9-8-1) last fought in one of the most memorable bouts in UFC history, when he and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva exchanged blows for five rounds last December. The match ended in a draw, and Silva later tested positive for elevated testosterone.

Nelson (20-9) will come into the September fight off a win over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC Fight Night Abu Dhabi. The finish of Nogueira was Nelson’s 18th career win within the distance.

The Hunt-Nelson main event will be a five-round fight.

They better reinforce the cage walls for this fight

    I know this won’t be popular but…
Two overweight guys winging hay-makers at each other isn’t MMA, though it may be entertaining.

So body type decides wether you are an MMA fighter ?

      • George Sperry

No doing someting other than punching determines whether you are an MMA fighter.

Both have a decent amount of submission wins on their records. This is the first time I’ve seen bitching on here about striking/brawling in an MMA fight, not to mention that body types are completely irrelevant.

          • David

Haha oh wait all of the submissions on Mark Hunts record are losses. Scratch that one.

Pretty sure Hunt had multiple take downs against Big Foot.

Just watch the video of Roy Nelson dominating frank Mir at grapplers quest. Roy is legit. So is mark hunt. They are true mma fighters!

    Finally…!!!

I’ll be rooting for Hunt, but I think Nelson will take it. If Nelson gets hurt on the feet he can fall back on his superior ground game.

    • Cptmats

Hunts Ground game is just as good.
