Mark Hunt UFC 119-007-478x270A heavyweight clash between Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva has reportedly been set as the main event for a possible UFC Fight Night event on Dec. 7 in Australia, according to a report by Brazilian site Combate.com.

No venue has been set for the fight, but with the cage banned in both Victoria and Western Australia, Sydney and Brisbane are the leading chances to host the show.

Hunt (9-8) is coming off a knockout loss to former UFC champion Junior dos Santos at UFC 160, which snapped his four-fight winning streak. The New Zealand born fighter was in and out of hospital after the bout with a gaping hole in his leg caused by an infected hematoma.

Silva (18-5) last fought at UFC 160, when he challenged Cain Velasquez for the UFC heavyweight title, losing via TKO in round one.

Great fight worth not paying for.

Hope this event will draw 4,000 to 7,000 attendance like FN27 and unconfirmed reports about FN28 … they’ll stop to joke the small markets.

Cmon Dana! Make us dream! Ahahahah!!!

This fight is so predictable.. Bigfoot will Ground and Pound..

    • Werdoomb

if he could get there. Bigfoot = sluggish = weak against compact hard punchers.

Tough division to be in based on the fact that a single loss can really set you back. Or is it just me feeling this way?

    • sarcasticball

Why this isn’t true in an other division?

Bigfoot earned a rematch with Can and lost and now is fighting Hunt. He should be fighting Josh Barnett or Roy Nelson. I know Roy is booked with DC but it would have been a decent match up. Overeem lost to Bigfoot then was matched up against Browne who I believe was even’t ranked top 10. All the guys seem to be neck and neck in that division and a loss seems like it can really set you back. Middleweight it doesnt seem to be that way though b/c Bisping is still in talks for a possible title shot if he beats Munoz. At LW Gilbert Melendez will probably want or get a title shot if he beats Diego.

That’s because there’s not many quality HW fighters.
Bisping is coming of a win, and pretty much like Hunt’s situation, it really doesn’t set one back losing to the #2 of the division. Bigfoot shouldn’t be fighting Barnett, maybe Nelson, but that’s already far below Hunt’s position IMO.
And remember he’s on the talks for a TS after Silva’s rematch, so maybe until it comes the time he would probably have to fight again.

Mark hunts last fight was a title eliminator fight, so what the f*** are you talking about?

  • julian moran

Silva takes Hunt down and keeps him there.

    • julian moran

I do not like this fight.
