Rising MMA prospect Melvin Manhoef made short work of returning veteran Ian Freeman in the main event of the Cage Rage show at Wembley Arena on Saturday. Manhoef won the fight by knockout just seventeen seconds after the opening bell.
In a major upset, Pride veteran James Thompson lost to Rob Broughton by TKO in a fight for the vacant Cage Rage British Heavyweight Title.
Also on the card, Gilbert Yvel defeated last-minute replacement and UFC veteran Fabiano Scherner with his ground and pound offense, Zelg Galesic submitted UFC veteran Curtis Stout, Pierre Guillet got a doctor’s stoppage victory over Pride veteran Daijiro Matsui, and Henry “Sentoryu” Miller’s MMA record fell to 1-5 with his loss to Robert “Buzz” Berry.
