On this week’s episode of Majority Draw Radio, hosts Ryan McKinnell and Danny Acosta debate the pros and cons of “CM Punk” Phil Brooks signing with the UFC, the Reebok fighter uniform deal and discuss Robbie Lawler and Anthony Pettis walking out of UFC 181 with gold, plus this upcoming weekend’s UFC double-header featuring Junior dos Santos, Nate Diaz, the straw eight championship and World Series of Fighting’s Jon Fitch-led event featuring Lance Palmer vying for featherweight gold.

UFC Hall of Famer, former welterweight champion Matt Hughes joins the show to discuss Lawler’s coronation as the 170-pound kingpin of the Octagon.
“I wanted to be the first guy to put that belt around Robbie Lawler,” the former Miletich Fighting Systems star told MDR. Hughes admitted he was worried the decision wouldn’t go Lawler’s way even though he was 90-percent sure “Ruthless” won the fight from reading the crowd and watching the fight cageside. The biggest change that led to Lawler seizing the belt is “maturity,” Hughes stated.
“When I was watching Robbie fight, half the time I was looking up thinking what should be happening with my buddy and the other half, I had my head down praying,” said Hughes. “Right now I’m just thankful that everything worked out for my buddy.”
Plus World Series of Fighting featherweight Lance Palmer talks how he got the nickname “The Party,” his second crack at WSOF gold and fighting in his adopted hometown of Sacramento.

Sorry Matt, but as much as I am a fan of you, God did not make Robbie win.

Stop it right now! God is real!….and he is a HUGE MMA fan! He had a shitload of cash on Lawler and made it happen.

…he still hates women’s MMA, but thinks some of the chicks are hot though.
