On the latest episode of Majority Draw Radio, hosts Ryan McKinnell and Danny Acosta explain Chael Sonnen’s not-surprising HGH and EPO positive drug test, delve into the world-class main event between middleweight champion Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida at UFC 175, and laugh at Vitor Belfort’s insistence he be granted a title shot in Brazil.

UFC welterweight kingpin Johny Hendricks drops in for an update on his injury status, his excitement for Robbie Lawler versus Matt Brown, his belief Georges St-Pierre will “sixty-percent” return to the Octagon as well as GSP’s relation to a Canadian pot kingpin among other topics. “Bigg Rigg” expounded on the difference between him and his competitive rival in St-Pierre.

“Here’s the difference between me and Georges,” the Texas-based champ told Majority Draw Radio, “That if I do clear out the division and Dana says, ‘Hey, Chis Weidman cleared out the division’… If Dana says, ‘Johny, want to fight Chris Weidman?’ I’m not going to say no.”

Hendricks later added, “If I wipe out the division, I won’t hesitate to go higher. I can’t wait to go higher.”

It’s disrespectful to everyone in the division, including the fans, to start talking about super fights when you haven’t even defended GSP’s belt.

    • Fiver

He isn’t asking for a “super fight” like he deserves it, he is saying it would be nice to move up and not have to cut so much weight the older he gets, time and time again. That’s it, it has nothing to do with trying for a super fight.

      • Kris-tyahn

But Hendricks did ask Dana a few weeks ago about a possible fight vs. Weidman….. BAHAHAHAHA, he barely beat Lawler & that’s b/c Lawler didn’t show up the first two rounds (for whatever reason), while Lawler laughed while getting punched by Hendricks.

I used to really like Hendricks, but after he cried about losing a very close fight, then making excuses about only using 70% of his power vs GSP in the biggest fight of his life & vs. the best fighter on the planet, but he’s only going to use 70%?!? STFU & then he he said his arm was injured vs. Lawler which is why the fight was so close…. blah blah blah. t’s funny I didn’t hear Hendricks complain about the judges decision when he won vs. Koscheck, Pierce & even Condit. Sure he took Condit down, but Condit not only did more on the feet, but did way more off his back, than Hendricks did from the top.
Hendricks would get MURDERED by Weidman, Lyoto, Mousasi, Jacare etc. at MW. Hendrick’s T-rex arms will barely keep him champ @ WW, let alone be Champ at MW!
Hendricks says he’d move up to MW & fight if Dana asked him to. Considering Hendricks walks around at 220-230lbs, (while GSP walks around 188-190lbs) and Hendricks doesn’t have much to lose being Champ for what, a few months. Oh and figthing Weidman is not the same as figthing Anderson Silva. Considering GSP is a much, much smaller fighter than every MW (and especially Silva), GSP is a “small” WW, compared to Lawler, Hendricks, Condit, Diaz, Shields, MacDonald, Woodley etc.

Would love to see Condit vs. Hendricks in a 5 round fight!

        • Fiver

There is always going to be people that feel one guy won over another in a close fight, and I’m sure Hendricks probably regrets saying what he did after the GSP fight, but he felt and won and so did a lot of people and be was mad. I have no problem with that. As far as the Lawler fight, a torn bicep and he still wins a close one while he had Lawler in trouble in the 5th? I would say that’s impressive either way. There will always be hater no matter what but the fact is he’s the champ and earned it, can’t take that away from him however you slice it!

        • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

Hendricks got robbed against GSP and fought lawler with atown bicep. GSP wouldn’t fight with a hang nail let alone a torn bicep

GSP took an a’ss whooping at hands of Hendricks and quit ran for the hills

      • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

GSP refused to ever fight anyone at MW and wouldn’t even fight anyone that weighed in 15 lbs than his walk around weight. At least hendricks who has 6 less inches of reach than GSP isn’t afraid to fight fricken HUGE weidman who walks around easly 230 lbs

    • asd

Oh my, you feel disrespected? Do you also feel raped or something like that? Need a shoulder to cry on?

    • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

Nothing is more disrespectful than what GSP did by refusing a rematch that was ordered at the post fight conference and then run for the hills. Then ROIDY Mac pulled out of the Condit fight after he called Condit out and Hendrciks jumped in on short notice. Tristar has been bending and breakimg rules forever

      • TheCerealKiller

He decided before that fight that he was going to take a long break from fighting. As for Rory, he’s never popped a test. Where are you getting your “facts” from?

  • Ryan McKinnell

Hendricks made it clear in the interview that this would only happen if he cleaned out the division. He acknowledged that anyone in the top-10 could be champion on any given night — I don’t know if it gets much more respectful than that.

    • TheCerealKiller

I know he made it clear, but you don’t even talk about that stuff when you haven’t even defended GSP’s belt yet.

  • Just-scrap-nation

It’s annoying to me the excuses he makes. GSP was the champ so they counted his missed punches as strikes landed, he didn’t hit Lawler with his full strength.. Waka waka waka. The GSP fight was close, I know some think he won, some think he lost. Whatever, it all came down to the first round of that fight and neither “took” it. And he throws a hissy fit because he lost. And he lost because of the judges, or the strike count, or the biased opinions, the rules because GSP looked worse. He never once has shown humility and said “I shouldn’t have let it go to the judges”. The lawler fight was close, but it was only close because his arm was hurt and he wasnt hitting lawler as hard as he could. That fight was arguably just as close as the GSP fight and lawler made not one excuse. I’m not hating on the guy but geez, you’re the Welterweight champ of the world. You don’t need to make excuses. No ones perfect.

    • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

Hendricks beat the sh’it out GSP. That is why every legit MMA website and every MMA writer and analyst scored the fight for Hendricks. Whats even worse is GSP ran for the hills like and injured lamb running from a wolf and refused a rematch. Maybe Matt Serra should have told GSP to screw himself and not give a rematch. ITS ONLY OK FOR GSP TO DODGE A REMATCH JUST LIKE WHEN HE DODGED HENDRICKS THE FIRST TIME AND CHOSE TO FIGHT DIAZ WHEN HENDRICKS WAS THE CLEAR # 1 CONTENDER. GSP fans are fanatics who refuse to admit the truth. Dana ordered an immediate rematch because he was pissed Hendricks got screwed by the judges
Read for yourself below how the fight should have been scored

    • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

Hendricks destroyed the mighty GSP and nothing you say can change that, anyone who watches that fight knows GSP lost and was beat up bad

    • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

Why did every mma website along with every MMA writer score the fight for Hendricks

      see for yourself

  • Denny Swain

Weidman beat silva twice, a dominant champ. Hendricks, at best, drawed with a lighter weight champion. I see what hendricks is doing here but he can’t steal no shine from weidmans achievements or fame. Weidman has highlight reels of koing the goat of middleweights, hendricks barely beat koschek

    • Hugh Shakeshaft

Hendricks is reaching here and he’s only had the strap for a few months. First he needs to spend a few years cleaning out his division. He also needs to fight Condit again, in that fight, he would have lost had it gone 5 rounds. His face looked like crap and he spent the third round doing lay and pray.

      • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

You are dreaming Hendricks dominated Condit from start to finish. The fight wasn’t even close. Its only ok for GSP take down down all his opponents but if Hendricks used his wrestling its lay n pray. Hendricks was so far up in that fight why should he take chances? Because you don’t like him mean she should fight a stupid fight. Its ok for GSP to jab jab jba takedown repeat and bore fans half to death but thats smart fighting but if Hendircks uses strategy after winning first 2 rounds against Condit tyhat means he ‘s a coward now. What about Condit who ran away from Diazfor 25 minutes. Diaz had his back and almost finished him. Diaz was the agressor and chased Condit for 25 minutes. At least Hendricks doesn’t fight like a coward. You just can’t stand Hendricks because he beat the hell out of GSP

    • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

You are just crying because you know Damn well Hendricks beat the hell out of GSP

Dana said GSP was hurt real bad and that is why he refused a rematch

  • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

GSP wouldn’t fight Chris Weidman for all the money in the world just like he refused to fight A Silva at 177 lbs. Hendricks is a REAL FIGHTER and GSP is a point fighter that uses his long ass freakish 76″ reach to ja bbbbbbbbbberfest jab jab bore us ahalf to death. Matt Serra RUINED GSP

    • Hugh Shakeshaft

Hendricks needs to beat Lawler again, which I think he has a 50-50 chance of doing.

      • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

You do realize hendricks had a torn bicep going into the Lawler fight right? Try doing anything with a torn bicep let alone fighting in a cage for 25 minutes. I believe we are going to see the same Hendricks that destroyed GSP in his next fight

        • Hugh Shakeshaft

Look I like Hendricks, but I just don’t hug his nuts like you. I think Hendricks beat GSP more than Gus beat Jones. GSP retired because he took a beating against Hendricks, but GSP took a beating from Condit as well.

          • Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt

Good points but it sucks that all the nutjobs pretend like GSP won that fight. I knew it was total rippoff b,s when Dana flipped out.

Too bad Hughes and Serra didn’t pull that sh;it in GSP and refuse a rematch. I don’t care what anyone says that was a huge tarnish on GSP’s legacy along with when he turned down the Hendricks fight and told the UFC he would rather fight Diaz. if thatw asn’t bad enough Rory as in GSP’s team mate pulled out of the Condit fight and the UFC had Hendricks take the fight even though Hendricks had already earned his title shot. TYPICAL Tristar sleazy crap they have been pulling for years.

  • Ronnie Burgundy

Johny ‘Juice’ Hendricks is delusional, perhaps retarded. When he opens his mouth stupidity comes out. He fails to recognize MMA fans know some shit and he is first response to anything negative is an excuse:

    – (GSP) My wraps were at 70%. I won, look at this face.
    – I’ve already defended my belt with Lawler. I beat Lawler while injured.

‘If I clean out the division how about a super fight?’ He’s so desperate to have one big payday and retire. Apparently 50% of his winnings go to his mgmt team for everything. Then 30% tax, leaving him about 35% of gross winning in his bank acct (roughly). Or roughly $45k each for the last 6 fights over the last 3 years. Yeah, can’t retire on that.

With a division full of better fighters than him and low net income per fight, we can see why he’s desperate for a super fight. Retarded as it is for him to say that… and ADD the new PEDs testing in and out-of-competition and we have another reason he’ll be gone soon.

  • sausage

i owuld love to see hendricks v weidman. mainly because id love to see any superfight but id love to see whos the better wrestler but if its johny weidman would still win dominantly with his striking

  • justin

Easy to say now, but when they want him to do that huge fight for the same money, he will change his mind.

  • brad king

Lyoto will end this superfight talk!
