It was one year ago this week that the International Fight League held their inaugural event at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, N.J. They have since gone on to run shows across the United States, landed a regular time slots on Fox Sports and MyNetworkTV and expanded the league to twelve teams.
Following their one-year anniversary, IFL Commissioner and Co-Founder Kurt Otto joins Damon & Jeff on MMAWeekly Radio to discuss how the league progressed in accordance with their expectations, how plans have had to alter from their initial thoughts, and what the future holds for the first team-based promotion in mixed martial arts.
Also on the schedule for tonight is “Mighty Mo” Siliga. Mo is an accomplished K-1 veteran and won the K-1 Hawaiian Grand Prix this past weekend. There are also strong rumors that he will be looking to build on his 2-0 MMA record, participating on K-1’s foray onto the U.S. MMA scene on June 2nd at the L.A. Coliseum.
