MOLINE, Ill. — The recent partnership of successful promoters Terry Trebilcock (KOTC) and Monte Cox (Extreme Challenge) is paying huge dividends for mixed martial arts fans in the Midwest.
The first-ever MMA Pay-Per-View event in Illinois is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 17, at the 10,000-seat Mark of the Quad Cities. “KOTC: Redemption on the River” will feature six recent veterans of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and a Pride regular on its 15-bout card.
Headlining the event will be a 5-round Super Bout battle between hometown favorite and undefeated Jason Black (19-0-1) and “Mr. International” Shonie Carter (69-14-7).
“I think this area is ready for a huge event,” Cox said. “I did my very first show at The Mark and drew 8,000 people… it sure would be nice to duplicate that feat 10 years later.”
Other key matchups include: Jeff Curran vs. Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett; Brendan Seguin vs. Gideon Ray; Joey Clark vs. Josh Neer; and Trevor Garrett vs. Terry Martin.
The event will be shown as a full 3-hour Pay Per View event March 10 on In-Demand, Dish Network and TVN followed by play on HDnet.
Tickets are available locally at The Mark box office and all Ticketmaster locations.
