It’s been a year since Chan Sung Jung set foot in the Octagon, but the Korean Zombie is finally scheduled to make his return at UFC Fight Night Stockholm on Oct. 4 at the Globe Arena.
UFC officials on Saturday announced that Jung would face Akira Corassani in the co-main event when the promotion returns to Sweden.
Jung (13-4) last fought at UFC 163 in August of 2013, when he lost via TKO to featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Not only did Jung lose his bid for the belt, but he also suffered the dislocated shoulder that has kept him on the sidelines all this time.
Corassani (12-4, 1 NC) also enters the fight coming off of a loss, having been stopped by Dustin Poirier in his last outing. He’ll still have the advantage of activity on his side, however, as Corassani has fought twice while Jung has been nursing his injury.
A welterweight bout between Gunnar Nelson and Rick Story was announced earlier this week as the UFC Fight Night 53 main event.
