- KING OF THE CAGE ON PPV

Posted on by MMAWeekly.com Staff

Press Release
King of the Cage returns to the Silver Legacy Casino Saturday, October 29th with ‘Execution Day’. Elite fighters from around the world will converge to test their skills at the Reno Events Center inside a steel cage.

See 11 bouts of non-stop full-contact cage-fighting fury at King of the Cage, knocking out the competition. Japanese phenom Takumi Nakayama defends his King of the Cage World Lightweight Title against Gladiator Challenge Lightweight Champion Mac Danzig.

Nakayama holds two solid wins in King of the Cage over Pride veteran Charles ‘Krazy Horse’ Bennett and submission grappling wizard Charlie Kohler. This will be his first title defense since winning the belt last November. Real American Wrestler Mac Danzig is coming off a first round win in King of the Cage: Shock and Awe in Alberta, Canada.

Now training with Millenia Jujitsu in southern California, he recently defeated Ceasar Gracie Jujitsu veteran fighter Nick Ertle by TKO in a blood-soaked battle to win the Gladiator Challenge World Lightweight Title.

King of the Cage World Bantamweight Champion Urijah Faber, the most exciting and dominating pound-for-pound athlete in the world, makes his second title defense. Challenging him is Team Fury’s Shawn Bias.

Faber’s vicious, relentless ground and pound attack and wildly unorthodox striking has made him the man to beat at 145 pounds, steamrolling opponent after opponent. Bias has made a meteoric rise through the rankings, defeating
Brazilian Jujitsu Black Belt John DeLaO, STACT House wrestler Dave Granados, and highly regarded submission wrestler AJ Fonseca out of NorCal Fighting Alliance, all in a five week period. He hopes to continue his winning
ways in Reno on the 29th against his most formiddable opponent ever.

In other main event action, hometown Light Heavyweight Richard Montoya looks to prove himself against the devastating Aaron Brink. Montoya hails from Reno, NV, and makes his PPV debut with King of the Cage. Brink
is one of the most powerful strikers in his division, with seventeen out of his eighteen wins coming by knockout. In a matchup of kickboxer versus brawler, Montoya hopes to negate Brink’s straight-ahead powerhouse punching with his superior kickboxing footwork and technique.

Don’t miss the most explosive show of the year at the Reno
Convention Center in Reno, NV on Saturday, October 29th. Doors open at 5:30pm, fights start at 7pm. For tickets, go to www.kingofthecage.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
