Karo Parisyan has gone 7-2 in the Ultimate Fighting Championship since debuting for the promotion in September of 2003. He is currently the #5 welterweight fighter in the MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings. From a stunning rolling kimura finish of Dave Strasser in that debut to his most recent domination of Josh Burkman at UFC 71, Parisyan has stunned fans time and again with his superior Judo abilities.
With an overall record of 17-4 and his only UFC losses being dropped decisions to Diego Sanchez (currently the #7 welterweight in the world) and Georges St. Pierre (currently the #2 welterweight in the world), Parisyan has long been knocking on the door to a title shot. With the win over Burkman, it’s likely that Parisyan is once again near the front of the line. But he will have to wait for Matt Hughes to take a shot at newly crowned champion Matt Serra, whom Parisyan has defeated, before he gets his chance.
In the meantime, Parisyan took time out of his busy schedule to show MMAWeekly readers just how he does one of his infamous Judo throws. In this MMAWeekly Tip of the Week, Parisyan takes you step by step through the hip toss that he has executed flawlessly countless times in the Octagon, including recently against Burkman.
