Jose Aldo Thought Chad Mendes Deserved the Next Shot, but Happy to Fight Kenny Florian

As a champion, Jose Aldo’s job is to fight the best competition in the world and defend his UFC featherweight belt.

Coming off his last win at UFC 129 over Mark Hominick, Aldo believed Chad Mendes would be his next opponent, but the UFC opted to give him Kenny Florian instead.

While the move was somewhat surprising to the champion, Aldo is more than happy to face Florian on Saturday night in Houston, and hopefully take some of his fans and recognition at the same time.

Check out this exclusive one on one interview with UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo:

That’s very nice of Aldo to say that! Unfortunately, he is still not very savvy about how Dana favors his people, and how American culture gets hung up on certain people until it is balatantly and utterly obsessive. KenFlo is one of Dana’s proteges, just like Mir, Liddell, Jones, Bonnar, Sadollah, & Forrest Griffin. It’s just politics. It’s just another day in corporate America.

I couldn’t agree more. Florian is a joke, and he does not deserve this shot.

I’d say it has nothing to do with politics or playing favorites and everything to do with name recognition and drawing ability.

And Florian is anything but a joke.

Someone who disagrees. What a shocker. “Name recognition”? “Drawing ability”? I knew there were some retards in the UFC, but I didn’t think it was as bad as fighters not recognizing names. I also did not know they were required to know how to draw, sketch or by artsy. Ok. Whatever. The arguments made above are as fruitless as stating that David Schwimmer was the protagonist of “Friends”, or saying that Riddick Bowe was the best boxer that ever lived, or that “Stop or My Mon Will Shoot!” is Sylvester Stallon’s best movie ever.

The Man Deserves A title shot. His record speaks for itself. Florian finishes fights. He will lose to Aldo, but he deserves his chance to fight a master…again.
