Jorge Santiago: I’m Honored to Fight Him… But It’s Just a Fight (UFC 130 Video)

Posted on by MMAWeekly.com Staff

Former Sengoku middleweight champion Jorge Santiago has been down the UFC road before. It didn’t end so great on the first go around. He went 1-2 before leaving the Octagon in 2006.

But that wasn’t the same Jorge Santiago. He remembers himself as “garbage” back then; now he’s a professional.

Santiago realizes that he doesn’t have an easy go of it in his return. He not only faces a tough competitor in Brian Stann at UFC 130, he faces a decorated Marine hero… on Memorial Day weekend… on his home turf. Being the professional that he has become, however, Santiago keeps the fight in perspective.

“I’m honored to fight him,” the Brazilian says, “(but) it’s just a fight.”
