Jorge Rivera and Eric Schafer will both look to get back on the winning track when they face off at UFC on FX 1 on Jan. 20 in Nashville.
UFC officials announced the new bout on Tuesday.
After picking up three wins in a row in the UFC, Jorge Rivera fell on tougher times dropping his last two bouts back-to-back. Losses to Michael Bisping and Costas Philippou had Rivera actually considering retirement, but the Massachusetts’ native decided to give fighting another go and he’ll do that in January.
Facing Rivera will be former light heavyweight turned middleweight Eric Schafer, who will look to bounce back from a loss of his own in his last fight.
Schafer faced Aaron Simpson at UFC 136, and while he survived showing off his great chin, he still got battered about for the better part of three rounds.
Now he’ll look to return to the winning side of things facing Rivera in January.
