The stage is finally set for Jon “Bones” Jones and former teammate Rashad Evans to settle their long standing grudge at UFC 145 in Atlanta.

With the fight all but official, the first odds have been released and as expected the incumbent champion comes in as a huge favorite.

Jones opened as a -625 favorite with the comeback on Evans at +425, according to Nick Kalikas from

While not shocking, Evans, who is a former champion that also trained alongside Jones for quite some time, seems fairly underrated as such a huge underdog in the fight.

Evans isn’t worried about it however.

The last time he was in Atlanta for a fight was UFC 88 in 2008. He entered his fight with UFC legend Chuck Liddell as a considerable underdog as well.

The result was a show-stopping overhand right that floored Liddell; Evans winning by knockout. He’s predicting a similar outcome at UFC 145.

“I’m sure I’ll go into this fight and Jon Jones will be the big favorite, and the stage will be set for once again another surprise knockout,” Evans said.

Assuming Evans’ health checks out as expected, the UFC could make the fight between the two fighters official any time in the coming days.

“I’m Rashad Evans and I beat Liddell after he went on a 1-2 slide and lost both fights after by (T)KO. That means Jon Jones is in trouble.”

  • People better not sleep on Evans.

Agreed, Evans is a legit threat but the odds look about right to me.

I almost fell asleep watching him fight Davis. Retard Evans is going to be beaten down in this fight.

Don’t bet the house on Bones in this fight! Rashad is a man on a mission!

    • TKD

I wouldn’t bet the house on anything in this world. Having said that, I would bet most of it on Jones.

  • Triggerman99

I always think the next guy to fight Jon Jones is going to beat him. Then he doesn’t. With that said, I think Rashad has a shot. Which means Jones is going to beat him. Make sense?
