Now that Jon Jones is set to defend his light heavyweight title against Lyoto Machida in December, the oddsmakers have set the defending champion as a decided favorite.

According to‘s Nick Kalikas, Jones will once again be a heavy favorite heading into his second title defense since winning the belt earlier this year.

Jon Jones comes in at -375, which is actually slightly lower than the odds he was carrying into a proposed match-up with Rashad Evans where he opened as a -475 favorite.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida has commanded a little bit more respect from the oddsmakers coming back as a +275 underdog.

Jones and Machida will square off in the main event of UFC 140 in Toronto where Jones will look to defend his light heavyweight title for the 2nd time, while Machida will try to reclaim the belt he lost more than a year ago.

  • No surprise here although I disagree with this being a harder fight than Evans.

  • I think the odds makers forgot to take a couple things into consideration before making the line…. Machida is hard to kill and he’s out for justice. Jones is marked for death when he steps on deadly ground on December 10th.

  • I love Machida and think he will be around for awhile..but his style is just too easy for Jones to get past….Machida is a counter puncher and Bones Jones ain’t given no one a chance…He’s going to roll over my boy Machida. Unless Machida can get aggressive ASAP and finish Jones. Jones all day and it breaks my heart to say it.

  • Good one, shortbus!!! I respect Machida as the true martial artist he is. I like Jones, but I got to put my money on Machida and make myself more wealthy!!!
