This latest development was announced via the Albuquerque PD’s official Twitter account.

An Albuquerque PD officer explained to that an offer was extended for Jones to turn himself in. At the time of this report, the department was still waiting to see if Jones would follow through on the offer.

Jones was initially being sought for questioning due to his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run car accident that occurred on Sunday in Albuquerque, N.M., that could have seen him charged with a misdemeanor for Leaving the Scene of an Accident. The charge on Monday was elevated to a felony.

Jon Jones - NAC HearingJones was allegedly driving a rental car, ran a red light, and struck a vehicle driven by a pregnant woman. After causing the accident, Jones, who was identified as the driver by an off-duty police officer, fled the scene. The woman went to the hospital. Although her pregnancy was not believed to be threatened, she suffered a fractured arm and wrist.

With the woman suffering an injury, the charge against Jones for leaving the scene was elevated from a misdemeanor to felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

At least they got Joseph Benavidez dad on the case

With each new update I’m seeing less and less from the Jones supporters. But then, how do you back up a guy that smashes into another car, then abandons the pregnant woman he just injured, stopping just long enough to grab his cash wad before parkouring away?

I’ll admit to being a huge fan of Jj the digger, and while I will say the pregnancy is somewhat irrelevant (I think that part would be impossible to tell at the time), you simply CANNOT support these actions, if true. Not saying they aren’t, there’s definitely a mountain of evidence building up. The cocaine use and DUI are somewhat understandable, who hasn’t done idiotic things at that age, I certainly did, but something involving another person being even possibly injured is another thing entirely. I’ve known plenty of people who made bad (even horrible) decisions who turned their life around, but if it’s going to be JJ that does so it’s definitely time for more action and less excuses. I personally hope he does, just because I selfishly enjoy watching him fight, but I’m personally able to disassociate the man from the fighter.

The closest I heard to a UFC statement was Kenny Florian saying that he should not get to fight Johnson and that Bones should have to vacate the strap. This is very brave of Florian, given the hard line approach the UFC takes against anyone that calls them on their bs.

This happened Sunday and now Monday is almost over. What the hell is he waiting for to turn himself in if they’re giving him that option? Too much babying this MF! Next news will probably be: JJ Was found dead from a cocaine over dose, but he was a great guy and if he was alive he would’ve done what’s right…LOL… What a joke!

They are not playing with him anymore, a felony warrant is no joke.

NM does not give preferential treatment to celebrities. Good for them, more than I can say about the cesspool of curroption that I reside in. A felony warrant, he will plea out to a maximum of a misdemeanor when all is said and done. Hope the fight still happens though.

I like Jones the fighter but the guy obviously has issues that need to be taken care of before he continues fighting. One report said something about drugs in the care. If that is true the fight should be postponed and Jon should have to get real help. At that point his interview stating he has no problem means nothing. Get the help you truly need, and be grateful you didn’t do serious damage to the lady you hit. He is young enough to get help and come back just as good as he is now. The man with all the talent in the world throwing it away. I always root for Jones but if this fight happens, how can you not be rooting for Rumble. ( a man who has had his own past)

Marijuana in the car. Nothing big.

He’s going to get a slap on the wrist.

I’ve seen this guy’s persona go from humble to arrogant @sshole in a span of two years, fame, money and drugs not a good combo, with that being said hope he gets better because man was I excited for his fight with Johnson

If guilty that belt should be stripped away!

How the F is the UFC not commenting???? Where the H is Dana White in all of this???? I mean if Jones gets away with another possible crime Dana White should resign as Prez of UFC….this is ridiculous.
