Jon “Bones” Jones had a historic weekend by winning the UFC light heavyweight title, and now he’ll take his show on the road. The new 205-pound champion will make a guest appearance on the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno on Thursday night.
UFC president Dana White announced the news via his Twitter account on Monday.
Jones went through former champion Maurcio “Shogun” Rua like a tornado through a trailer park on his way to winning the light heavyweight championship at UFC 128, making him the youngest champion in the company’s history at only 23 years of age.
The New York native also hit the headlines before he even stepped into the Octagon after helping to capture a thief just a few hours prior to his trip to the cage to fight for the belt.
Jones will undoubtedly tell the story about how he helped capture a criminal and his journey to becoming the new UFC light heavyweight champion.
The “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno airs on NBC at 11:30 p.m.
