Prior to UFC 136, Melvin Guillard had made statements that his opponent Joe Lauzon’s only chance of winning was catching him with a submission.

Well, Lauzon obliged him and finished the fight with a rear naked choke in less than a minute, but prior to sinking in the finishing hold, the Boston area native clipped and put Guillard down with a punch.

Speaking to MMAWeekly.com following the win, Lauzon admits that the victory was made that much sweeter because of how he was able to put Guillard away.
