Highly regarded women’s strawweight Jessica Aguilar (19-4) requested to be released by World Series of Fighting to pursue a career in mixed martial arts’ biggest promotion. She was granted her WSOF release on May 18 and has inked a deal with the UFC.
Combate first reported the news on Thursday, and Aguilar confirmed the development on Friday via Twitter.

The 33-year-old will make her promotional debut at UFC 190 against second-ranked Claudia Gadelha (12-1).
Aguilar is riding a ten-fight winning streak and hasn’t tasted defeat in five years. She’s the former WSOF women’s strawweight champion and has a win over former UFC titleholder Carla Esparza.
Gadelha is looking to rebound from her first career loss when she faces Aguilar. The Brazilian lost a spit decision to current UFC champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk in December.
