A lightweight match between Canadian Jesse Ronson and Brazilian Francisco Trinaldo has been added to the UFC Fight Night 36 fight card in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil.
UFC officials announced the match-up on Thursday.
Ronson (13-3) was riding an eight-fight winning streak when he made his UFC debut at UFC 165 on Sept. 21. He was defeated by Michael Richard Cunha dos Prazeres by split decision that night and hopes to start another winning streak at the Feb. 15 event.
Trinaldo (13-3) arrived in the UFC as a middleweight, defeating Delson Heleno by technical knockout at UFC 147. Following the win he returned to the lightweight division, losing to veteran Gleison Tibau by unanimous decision. He bounced back from the loss by winning back-to-back fights by submission, defeating C.J. Keith and Mike Rio by arm triangle choke. He is coming off a submission loss to Piotr Hallmann on Sept. 4.
UFC Fight Night 36 takes place at the Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazi on Feb. 15. The event is headlined by a bout between former champions Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi. It will mark Mousasi’s return to the middleweight division.
