Jens Pulver is set to return to action against up-and-comer Josh Grispi at WEC 41 in Sacramento, Calif.
MMAFanhouse reported the match-up today, citing unnamed WEC officials who confirmed the fight.
The June 7 card is headlined by a highly anticipated rematch between Urijah Faber and Mike Brown. Faber lost his featherweight title to Brown at WEC 36 last November.
Pulver has lost three straight fights to the featherweight division’s best since his move from the UFC lightweight class in December of 2007. The veteran said his personal life distracted him from preparing for a rematch with Urijah Faber in January, where Faber submitted him in 94 seconds, in stark opposition to their first five-round war at WEC 34.
Overall, the Miletich Fighting Systems original carries a record of 21-11-1.
Grispi last appeared at WEC 35, where he defeated Micah Miller by punches in 50 seconds. His WEC 32 debut against Mark Hominick went similarly, netting him a submission victory in less than three minutes. The 20-year-old Boston native is 12-1 since making his professional debut in September of 2006.
