Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller’s time in the UFC has come to an end.

The always colorful and outspoken former host of MTV’s Bully Beatdown has been released from the UFC following a loss to C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146.

UFC President Dana White confirmed the news on Saturday night when speaking to reporters after the post fight press conference.

Miller’s time in the UFC could only be described as an experiment gone wrong.

The one time Strikeforce fighter was brought over to the UFC after essentially being banned from television following an incident in which Miller was involved in a post fight melee following Jake Shields win over Dan Henderson in 2010.

Miller was basically banished from television after the occurrence, but found new life when the UFC signed him to a new deal and decided to put him on the Ultimate Fighter as a coach opposite Michael Bisping.

While the show was a success for Miller, the fight with Bisping after the season ended was anything but a rousing affair. Bisping soundly beat Miller and finished the former MTV host with strikes, and following the fight UFC President Dana White contemplated releasing him after is cardio failed him early on and his performance could only be described as abhorrent.

White decided to give Miller one more chance, and in the early going of his fight against former Ultimate Fighter runner-up C.B. Dollaway it looked like he might find success.

Unfortunately, Dollaway wasn’t going to go away that fast and he ended up winning a unanimous decision over Miller.

Then according to White there was an ‘incident’ backstage involving Miller, and while he wouldn’t elaborate it didn’t help his cause at all because he was then cut from the roster of the UFC.

White stated that the backstage incident didn’t play into his decision to cut Miller because he has already made up his mind to release the middleweight competitor, but it certainly didn’t help his cause.

Miller has now competed in the UFC a total of three times and ended his career there with an 0-3 record overall.

I’m surprised they actually gave him a 3rd fight in the UFC.

    • RubeKegal

His personal trainer needs to be fired…He looked weak as shit and had no cardio even with the improved diet.

  • http://www.bloodyfists.net/forums/index.php SHORT_BUS

Wonder what he did back stage.

  • BlackDog2009

NO surprise at all. He really looked unfocused in this fight, the clowning, the showboating was also over the top at the start of this fight. Then the end of the fight was a ‘show’s over’ for Mayhem. Also, he really looks unbalanced in interviews… his family should watch him closely.

    • clizzark

God Forbid a fighter try to have a little fun in the octagon…

      • dnsderek

Nope. Nobody is forbidding it at all. It’s just when you fool around and play games and spend more time on your walk-out plan than your fight plan — you’re going to get worked over like a schoolgirl by anyone who takes the fight seriously. Case in point here.

So yes… “have a little fun” in the ring and tote that big fat 0 in the win column home with you. Fair trade.

  • MuayThaiFood

“his performance could only be described as abhorred.”

Actually it can’t be described as abhorred unless you don’t know the usage of the word. Abhorred is a verb so it would be improper grammar to use it here. What you need is the adjective form of the word which would be “abhorrent” if you were going to use any form of the word at all. It’s actually archaic though, so unless you are a 16th century translator of the Old Testament then there are probably many more useful choices of words to describe his performance.
Here’s a partial list to choose from borrowed from Websters:

offensive, abominable, appalling, awful, disgusting, distasteful, dreadful, evil, foul, fulsome, gross, hideous, horrendous, horrible, horrid, loathsome, nasty, nauseating, nauseous, noisome, noxious, obnoxious, obscene, odious, rancid, repellent (also repellant), repugnant, repulsive, revolting, scandalous, shocking, sickening, ugly

Most of these could be preceded by F…ing for maximum effect.

      amen!!

    • pooby

Thank you Muay. Mmaweekly, hire this guy and fire the idiots you currently have writing these articles.

      • dnsderek

I disagree. Muay seems like the type that would spend copious amounts of time obsessing over trivial and irrelevant details in a feeble attempt to make himself look superior. Instead just coming off looking like a smug jackass. No Thanks!

    • bryanadams

For real? Is this what you do all day? Sit around and try to one up crappy Internet staff writers.?.?. Seriously bro, get a job, get a life, and get laid for fucks sake!

      • MuayThaiFood

I know you’re going to hate me even more after this but so be it. I have a life, I have an extremely beautiful brazilian girlfriend and I was at my job on a slow night getting paid when I wrote this and was just having some fun. Lighten up Mcfly!

        • johnnylopes

ive seen what Brasilian call “beautiful” in america its “disgusting” … you prob didnt even know what Abhorred meant n you still dont know the referance dana was using so jus go back to 6$ hour job you got n let the MMAweekly guys do what there paid for… Theres a big population of Brasilians where im from.. there all ignorant like you and act like know it alls and still get tossed around by real fighters, so go get your green card n get off the internet….. (massachusetts beatdown) – no brasilian can take that

          • MuayThaiFood

Funny comment….your ingnorance speaks for itself. Damon, not Dana, actually edited his article after my comment, which was only meant in jest in the first place. He commented on it down below btw. He didn’t appear offended but you are somehow. I never said I was Brazilian, you idiot, I’m American of European descent (not that it should matter) so everything else you said was irrelevant as well. Why don’t you go crawl back under the rock you came from you mental midget?!

    • bodkin_van_horn

massive FAIL! Look at the quote and then article.

      • MuayThaiFood

You should have showed up yesterday. The article was edited since my little poke. I was only having fun btw. I don’t really care what you haters think. I’m only trying to amuse myself, so get over it.

        • Anthony

Bro, once the pack gets on your a$$ , you cant win, trust me I know–they killed me on the TRT topic–Muay Tai you seem like a well educated intelligent guy, my advice is you have to realize alot of the people posting on this site are very young with little life experience(im sure your not the same guy now, as you were at 18) My point is dont glorify them by letting them get a rise out of you–just ignore them–You made your point

          • MuayThaiFood

Yeah, I know, you’re right. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it.

  • Mario

    Good

I’m personally not a fan of the guy, I think he’s a major goofball!

Hopefully we hear what happened backstage soon? I’m curious..

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003311915309 georgesperry

Fun guy for sure, but not a very good fighter.

  • http://www.facebook.com/RainWelker alecwelker

Yea, Dana cuts Mayhem after he loses to a top 5 MW (Bisping), and loses a 29-28 decision tonight but he keeps Steve Cantwin…errr, Cantwell…after losing 6, that’s right 6 fucking fights, in a row, most recently at UFC 144 in Japan. I’m calling bullshit that this wasn’t about what happened back stage.

    • bryanadams

Miller’s also a giant doorknob so, that might of had something to do with it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=532207357 christopherjohnston

guys can loses and keep their jobs if they’re exciting and they put in the effort (hardy, cantwell, etc..) miller doesn’t try…. mugging and dancing and mocking doesn’t qualify as “effort”. he is clearly more concerned with flash and colorful entrances than training hard and winning.

he can go back to japan with rampage,, where they appreciate high profile, lo-cal entertainment like miller and rampage and the bob sapps of the fight world.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000468891939 liemianbresenio

Both guys came off looking horrible in this fight. Miller was yawning and shrugging off the hits, but he did nothing to fix the situation. Dollaway, for his end, couldn’t even finish a guy with one leg. Pretty bad all around.

  • browill70

I know he’s a better fighter than this. Something isn’t right in his head. He looked dazed and confused in this fight.

    • bryanadams

Nope, he just looked better, because he was fighting lesser opponents.

      • RubeKegal

Yeah I am a Mayhem fan, but beating Tim Stout and a 58 year old Sakuraba means nothing.

  • alhmiel

Let clown Miller fight Nick Diaz somewhere just to have some action while Diaz is banned for the year. Have the fight in Cuba or the bahamas.

    • fightcrazy

Oh sure, Miller has not earned the right to fight a top 3 Welterweight, Diaz would punch Miller’s lights out so fast. Miller needs to fight beat up guys like Sakuraba and other worn out fighters. Diaz IMO is the best Welterweight in the world, he will be back. Diaz has fought every 4 months over the last 4 years, he needs a break, when he returns he will be ready for war. Nick Diaz is the most exciting fighter in the world.

      • RubeKegal

LOL @ Diaz best welterweight in the world!!! Is this based on his destruction of Thomas Denny? Or his 3rd round win over Scott Smith? Is it for beating a 35 year old Sakurai or 37 year old Frank Shamrock? Zaromskis? or the fact that Condit put a clinic on him? or that he fears GSP? best welterweight in the world LMAO!!!

  • smill0313

He probably trashed the dressing room after a judge scored it 30-26 for some fucking lay n pray.

  • shakejunt

I seem to remember Mayhem saying he would retire if he couldn’t beat CB…

  • http://MMAWeekly.com Damon Martin

Yes sorry typing fast at 3am is not always the best idea. I was going for the adjective and spelled it wrong. Unfortunately typos are a part of the writing business!

    • MuayThaiFood

Just teasing man….no disrespect. I got flamed for my comedic efforts anyway. :)

  • twodragunns

All you douche bags that talk shit about pro mma fighter are in fact punks!!! STFU you cowards! Any man willing to fight in a cage deserves the utmost respect and referring to them as clowns and doorknobs makes you look like a punk! This site doesn’t even do anything about these keyboard douche bags that talk shit and bash pro mma fighters which makes this site very avoidable. Cmon mods, ban these punks that verbally bash fighters from their mom’s basements …… it’s way overdue!!

    • shakejunt

look at you gettin all heated. that’s adorable.

  • jimisellars

The first time I saw him fight was his first UFC loss to GSP. I liked him because GSP could not finish him and he kept fighting. He took the fight because someone was hurt. He has been a letdown since. Seems like he is not serious or he is trying to go the celebrity route. To bad

  • juzed23

Condit gave Diaz a clinic? And all these fighting fans nitpicking over words. Seems to me like a bunch of desk jockeys who let their aggression out via blogs etc instead of with their fists, or in real life physical contact with others even verbal. Condit gave him a clinic on how to play chasey/tag. Halve the size of the octagon and it wouldn’t have gone out the 2nd. It’s ok Nate here to takeover!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003311915309 georgesperry

Words are how we communicate. If you can’t use words then your opinion is suspect at best. ne1, or no1, to when you mean too, your instead of you’re etc. are distracting to people that know what words mean. It breaks concentration and the continuity of the thought so that the writers meaning is lost.
People with limited abilities often rail at others for their own weakness.
People in forums use won when they mean one and vise a versa and other just unbelievable errors then get angry when others can’t understand them.
If you post you must want your opinion heard, you possibly may even think you have something to add to the conversation. If you do try using the common language the forum is written in and stop trying to invent your own language then getting upset when we don’t know it.
Perhaps the poster should just be ignored period.

    • yellowmonkey

Proper English is neither the norm nor the expectation for online posting. It is unreasonable to hold people accountable for having completely proper English and perfect usage and mechanics.

For instance, take this guy georgesperry. He actually does feel Proper English should be used during online posting. Yet, even he apparently does not know the difference between possessive and plural!

Quote: “It breaks concentration and the continuity of the thought so that the writers meaning is lost.”

      *writer’s
also it’s vice versa not “vise a versa”

If you plan to sit on a pedestal and tell everyone to edit to perfection or not be heard then please make sure you dish out perfection too. Course, it really is not necessary considering the venue. That is why I can say; zomg roflcopter ura noob! And the message still gets across despite the lack of proper English.

This isn’t English 101. And if it was, you couldn’t teach it.

      • MuayThaiFood

I think you missed his point. There are typos and then there is the wholesale butchering of the English language. I think his mistakes fall into the insignificant category and he was referring to the latter. Nobody here is expecting perfection but why glorify ignorance, especially from raging trolls.

        • yellowmonkey

Oh? And how do you qualify wholesale butchering vs typos? none of the mistakes he referenced result in a butchering of comprehension.

He specifically made the example of to instead of too and your instead of you’re. these are easily both typos. so not understanding plural vs possessive is some how less butchering compared to knowing the proper use of too or you’re? not really seeing how you qualify that one. these mistakes are all on the same playing field, none are a big deal because we all understand what was intended.

i guess my main point is, the content of the post is what matters. lets bring the usage and mechanics convo back to MMA. when JDS comments on a fight, what matters most, the content and message he is trying to convey, or his English abilities? similarly, in the defense of those less linguistically skilled, a poster’s opinion and intellect regarding the discussion of MMA may outshine their English abilities, but that does not mean we should ignore their viewpoint.

    Jason:
Have fun on Bully Beatdown. Douche Bag.

  • http://www.facebook.com/sheree.sawyer shereesawyer

CB could not even finish a one legged fighter that could not even get off the mat!!All he did was lay there and hope the time hurried by! Why doesn’t someone fire Dana for the “bullshit” he pulls!! I quess Mayhem didn’t pucker up the right way to kiss Dana’s a$$!!!
