New Indian MMA promotion Super Fight League (SFL), which was founded by Raj Kundra and Sanjay Dutt, premiered Sunday at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai, India, shown live around the world for free on YouTube.

In the main event, super heavyweights Bob Sapp and James Thompson squared off, but the action didn’t last long with Sapp tapping out due to an injury just 1:52 into the opening round.

Thompson took Sapp down to the mat within the opening 15 seconds and went straight to ground and pound with Sapp, who had lost his last five fights, only able to cover up his head.

Sapp reversed the position and landed on the top and was able to deliver some ground and pound of his own, but it was short lived. Thompson reversed the position and twisted Sapp’s left leg. Sapp immediately tapped after it seemed he injured his quad.

Like I said earlier, Bob Sapp is the kind of fighter who would tap out to a bee sting. He probably gases out when walking from the couch to the fridge.

Ronda Rousey could submit Bob Sapp. Sapp could be the biggest sissie in MMA.

    Wow

And I heard the guy doing commentary say that he’s got more fights coming up?

Sapp will most likely give up in those bouts as well. If he can make it. Don’t know the severity of his injury :P

It’s a bum deal that Sapp continues to go down this road. I’ve met Sapp, and he’s an incredibly nice guy. He was an All-American football player, and was a decent and imposing K1 fighter 12 years ago. He needs to get out of the fight game, and focus on acting or something else. Each fight he continues to hurt his reputation.

Sapp should’ve gone into pro wrestling 8-10 yrs ago when he still had a recognizable name. Now he’s smaller, and perpetually injured. He’s not a fighter, he doesn’t take damage well, and he’s not built for this type of athletic competition. Hopefully bob gets out before he takes too much damage.
