UFC president Dana White officially announced on Friday that women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey would face Bethe Correia in the UFC 190 main event on August 1.

“UFC 190 will take place at the HSBC Arena right here in Rio. It will feature Bethe Correia vs. Ronda Rousey,” said White during the UFC 189 World Tour press conference in Brazil, before surprising fans with both women then joining in for questions.

Ronda Rosuey vs Bethe CorreiaCorreia is undefeated (9-0) and has been calling for a bout against Rousey since arriving in the UFC. After defeating two of Rousey’s close friends and teammates: Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler, Correia has been granted the title fight.

Rousey (11-0) asked to face Correia following her UFC 184 title defense against Cat Zingano on Feb. 28 and offered to take the fight in Correia’s home country of Brazil.

It’s official. Correia has pissed Ronda off. Shame on her. Talking smack about Ronda is a no win situation. Correia had better have a sling handy on fight night because she’s going to need one.

You look like a hot computer hacker

I don’t think Bethe is ready. Ronda is running out of opponents so I’m ok
with it. I would like to see her fight much as she can before she goes hollywood

i think bethe mouth has put her in a world of hurt.

Yes, Ronda is likely going to put a serious beating on her. I will likely still order it as I like to watch all fights, long or short.

Before anybody starts in with the Cyborg talk, listen up. There is only a 135 and under for the ladies, so a catch weight fight is meaningless, there is no upside for Ronda and the UFC. What if Ronda actually loses that fight? Cyborg won’t get the belt, and she still won’t be able to even join the 135 rankings. All it would do is lower Ronda’s legitimacy, leaving the UFC with a champion that just lost. Sure it helps Cyborg but then what does she do, go back to Invicta? Why would the UFC ever book this at catchweight? As a fan or businessman, it makes no sense.
Now I don’t think Ronda would lose, but there is nothing to gain in the division with this fight. The UFC isn’t interested in boosting Cyborg’s personal status, they want to strengthen the brand. It’s a stupid move in matchmaking and in business. If Cyborg can make weight, im guessing the UFC will make that fight for sure, but they need to know Cyborg will keep up her end of the deal as champion if she wins. Anybody who insists Ronda is scared is an idiot. Unless Ronda is ready to retire with one-off super fights, the best move is to fight only at 135.

yes all that is true i really want to see the cyborg rousey fight but at the minute it can only happen at 135. the only thing that can change that is if the ufc create the 145 divisions and have the fighters for it but at the moment its at 135. cyborg probably needs to fight at 135 for the title in invicta win it, and then the fight is on

Maybe Ronda will straiten Correias face up a little. She is one ugly Bethe!

  • I really hope bethe knocks some humbleness into Roussy big noggin
