Posted on by MMAWeekly.com Staff

Conor McGregorIt has been no secret that following his successful promotional debut at UFC on Fuel TV 9, popular Irish fighter Conor McGregor would make his sophomore effort at the first UFC on Fox Sports 1 event on Aug. 17 in Boston.

UFC officials on Friday confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that McGregor now has an opponent to go along with the date… Andy Ogle.

Both fighters have verbally agreed to the featherweight bout.

McGregor (13-2) lived up to the high expectations of him at UFC on Fuel TV 9, defeating Marcus Brimage by TKO little more than a minute into their fight.

Ogle (9-2), an Englishman, last fought at UFC on Fuel TV 7 in February, when he won a unanimous decision over Josh Grispi.

Officials have yet to announce a UFC on Fox Sports 1: 1 main event, which will serve to help launch the new Fox Sports 1 network.

    great fight cant wait.

seems like ogle is a step down from brimage, but that’s fine, i’m okay with them building him up a bit if he’s gonna stay at 145.

Lop-sided fight in my eyes. Should be a comfortable win for McGregor with a great chance to show his standup. Potential FotN if Ogle can stay the distance.

Should be an easy W (UFC hopes for BIG KO in Beantown). Hope Conor loses though.

Hi haircut is crooked. Maybe he was fighting the barber?

Hope they dont cut ogle when he loses this he is a nice bloke and has potential he looked good against grispi maybe he will suprise everyone and get the W but i doubt it :)

McGregor originally requested to fight on this card at 155. If he truly anticipates a difficult cut, Ogle may have a better chance than many are giving him. I would expect McGregor to fight to the bitter end if he gets winded, so it may turn into a fotn slug fest as opposed to a one sided easy KO opportunity.
I’m rooting for Conor here all the same.
