Cyborg gonna Cyborg.
Cris “Cyborg” Justino proved once again that she reigns on high as queen of Invicta with a first-round finish of Daria Ibragimova at Invicta FC 15 on Saturday in Orange County, Calif.
Cyborg blasted away at her opponent for almost the entire opening round and finished her off with two seconds to spare at 4:58 of Round 1.
Ibragimova attempted to bring the fight to the ground by relentlessly pursuing a single-leg takedown for consecutive minutes. Cyborg, however, prevented the fight from ever going to the canvas and forced Ibragimova to fight a standing battle.
Towards the end of the round, Cyborg landed a devastating right hand that sent her opponent falling. After a pursuit to the ground, Cyborg landed hammerfists and ended the bout with yet another finish to add to her record.
With the win, Justino retains her featherweight belt and improves to 15-1, 1 NC.
In the co-main event, Livia Renata Souza retained her Invicta strawweight title with a first-round victory over DeAnna Bennett.
Souza planted a solid kick to the midsection, sending Bennett to the floor from the force of the impact. A few more strikes while on the ground capped it off and handed Souza the TKO win at 1:30 of the opening frame.
Earlier winners on the card included Amber Brown, Colleen Schneider, Mizuki Inoue, Megan Anderson and TUF vet Angela Hill.
