Invicta Fighting Championships on Thursday announced the full fight card for Invicta FC 12: Kankaanpaa vs. Souza, which will stream live and exclusively on from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. on Friday, April 24.

Invicta FC’s strawweight title is on the line in the main event as champion Katja “Killer Bunny” Kankaanpaa (10-1-1) of Finland makes her first title defense against undefeated submission specialist Livia Renata “Livinha” Souza (7-0) of Brazil.

The 33-year old Invicta FC Strawweight Champion Kankaanpaa captured gold with a fifth-round submission win over Stephanie Eggink at Invicta FC 8 in September of 2014. The challenger Souza makes her Invicta debut with an unblemished record, with all but one of seven wins coming by way of submission, including five first-round finishes.

In the co-main event, fan favorite Roxanne Modafferi (17-11) squares off with fellow title contender Vanessa Porto (17-6). The pair met previously in April of 2008, with Modafferi winning via third-round TKO. Modafferi has recorded back-to-back wins inside the Invicta cage, earning decisions over Tara LaRosa and Andrea Lee. Porto, who challenged for the flyweight title at Invicta FC 5, also rides a two-fight winning streak, including a decision win over Zoila Frausto at Invicta FC 7.

Dont really care, but I love that the whole card is on fightpass. Cant stand how broken UFC events are. For that you need access a sports channel, to fightpass, then the pay per view just to see all the fights.

Meh. Half of the decent fighters are now UFC employees including most of the big nemes. Invicta is just a feeder division for now. Will be closed up in 18 months like WEC was. Sad.
