This upcoming January 19th in Oakland, California when the IFL kicks off its huge 2007 campaign, one of the league’s premier fighters will not be in action as originally scheduled.

MMAWeekly has confirmed that Allan Goes, who is currently riding a two-fight winning streak in the IFL (three fights overall), will not be suiting up for Maurice Smith’s Seattle Tiger Sharks when they take on Marco Ruas’ So-Cal Condors.

Taking Goes’s place against Justin Levins will be Tiger Shark reserve fighter Reese Andy, who is coming off an extremely impressive superfight TKO victory over Jamal Patterson at last month’s IFL World Team Championship Finals.

Goes told MMAWeekly that he suffered an unfortunate muscle pull in his ribs during training this past week and even though he will not be in action on January 19th, he will be at the event showing support for his teammates as they start their third season of IFL action.

Confident that he will be healed soon, Goes hopes to get back in action as early as March for the IFL’s debut show in Los Angeles, or in April as part of the Tiger Sharks’ scheduled battle with the new Igor Zinoviev-coached Chicago Red Bears team in Moline, Illinois.
