Injuries have hit the upcoming UFC on Fox 2 fight card in Chicago.
First up, submission wizard Paul Sass has been forced out of the show and will be replaced by Nik Lentz, who now faces Evan Dunham on Jan. 28.
Lentz will return to action just over a month after dropping a unanimous decision to Mark Bocek at UFC 140 in Toronto. It was Lentz’s first loss in the Octagon. Lentz faces Dunham in a lightweight match-up set for the preliminary portion of the show.
Also bitten by the injury bug, Chicago area fighter Eddie Wineland has been forced off the show.
His opponent from The Ultimate Fighter Season 14, Johnny Bedford, now awaits new opposition.
With the show still a month away, it’s likely UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby will find a new opponent for Bedford in short order.
