The International Fight League announced yesterday that it is moving the location of its World Team Championship from the initial venue of The Forum in Los Angeles to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The event is scheduled for Sept. 20 and will mark the IFL’s debut in the Sunshine State.

“Although we have had great success with our first two California events, this opportunity to have an event in Florida, in a hotbed for the sport with some of the new stars of the sport, was too much to pass up,” said IFL Co-founder and Commissioner Kurt Otto. “We have been able to bring our athletes to a host of new locations in our first year, and we wanted to find the right place in Florida, and there is no better place than the Hard Rock.”

The playoff semi-finals of the World Team Championships takes place on Aug. 2 at the Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey. The New York Pitbulls (Renzo Gracie) face the Tokyo Sabres (Ken Yasuda) and the L.A. Anacondas (Shawn Tompkins) face the Quad Cities Silverbacks (Pat Miletich) with the winners of those match-ups facing each other for the championship in Hollywood.
