A very big day for the IFL as they announced they have a deal signed with Fox Sports Network. Today the IFL’s management, Kurt Otto and Gareb Shamus sat down with MMAWeekly Radio’s Ryan Bennett and talked in detail about the television deal and what was involved in the deal.

Maybe the most impressive thing about the deal is how the IFL has secured a television contract before their first show has even aired. “It’s been non stop working 24/7 getting this first event going”. Otto told MMAWeekly Radio today. “We are very excited and it’s going to be a sold out weekend (on April 29th) and we are excited to have so many people there and to have Fox Sports Network on board, it’s tremendous.” Shamus told MMAWeekly Radio.

The first show will air on Sunday, May 21 at 6pm local time and the IFL will follow by having the other two teams compete on Sunday, May 28th. The two winning teams will then be seen squaring off for the IFL Legends Championship broadcast in early June.

Today in the IFL press release the IFL stated that quote “The televised shows will be produced by Emmy award-winning producer Peter Lasser, who has worked on several Olympic telecasts as well as with ESPN, NBC Sports, NFL Films and FSN, among others.”
