The International Fight League officially announced the Superfight match-up of new IFL coach Matt Lindland against fellow top middleweight contender Jeremy Horn. The fight had been rumored in MMAWeekly’s “Rumors” section for weeks and Matt Lindland himself verified the fight to MMAWeekly earlier this week.
The two will compete on September 9th when the IFL makes its Northwestern debut at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon.
Also making their debuts will be Matt Lindland’s team, the Portland Wolfpack, and Antonio Inoki’s team, the Tokyo Sabres. The Wolfpack will be matched up against the already established Seattle Tigersharks, coached by Maurice Smith. The Sabres inaugural match-up is against the Bas Rutten-coached Los Angeles Anacondas.
Rounding out the teams that bring the IFL total roster to eight are the Toronto Dragons, coached by Carlos Newton, and the newly announced Frank Shamrock team, the San Jose Razorclaws. Both teams will compete against established IFL teams on September 23rd in Moline, Illinois.
